Kapre's Wrath

Bound to a century-strong hallucination, the Kapre was kept at bay, pacified until he's not. Diwata Arijuan, a great fairy, exhausted her life to cast such an enduring spell. But an efficacy fueled by life force must have a mortality of its own. So, like many things, it weathers and grows weak by the day. And the mind is fragile and vulnerable to a fault. Rifted, a small fragment of reality seeped inside his memory. It was tiny, yet an inconsistency of any size was more than enough to dispel an old illusion. It was past dusk, but his wail woke the world, and peace slumbered yet again.
